Nicole Brown Simpson’s Sister Slams Chris Rock Over Joke About Her Murder

Nicole Brown Simpson’s Sister Slams Chris Rock Over Joke About Her Murder
Nicole Brown Simpson’s sister, Tanya Simpson, slammed comedian Chris Rock over an insensitive joke he made about her sister’s murder.
Chris Rock was performing in Phoenix, Arizona, on Sunday (Aug. 28) when he revealed that he was asked to host the 2023 Oscars after he was slapped by Will Smith.
The 57-year-old comedian then referenced O.J Simpson’s 1995 murder trial, saying that it would be like asking deceased Nicole Simpson “to go back to the restaurant,” where she left a pair of glasses the night she died.
As you may recall, Nicole Simpson was killed in 1994, at the age of 35, in a brutal double homicide. Her friend Ron Goldman was also murdered that night as he was returning Simpson’s glasses to her at her home. Her ex-husband O.J. Simpson was accused of the murders and stood trial in a spectacle that captivated the nation, and he was famously acquitted.

Tanya Smith wants Chris Rock and others to know that the pain from the murder is still fresh for several surviving family members and that jokes like this still hits close to home and is painful.
