Britney Spears’ Ex-Husband Kevin Federline Admits That He Refused To Help The Pop Star During Her Conservatorship Battle Because He Had To ‘Worry’ About Their Sons: I Was Mortified For Her

Kevin Federline confessed to having a lack of public support for his ex-wife Britney Spears’ as she fought to end her conservatorship.

In a recent interview, which is set to air on Sunday (Sept. 4), Kevin Federline shared that he didn’t involve himself in Britney Spears’ attempts to end her conservatorship because he was focused on the well-being of their sons, Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15. Reports state that Britney Spears’ two sons didn’t attend her wedding with Sam Asghari back in June and hadn’t seen the famed singer in months prior. Kevin Federline said he refrained his children from seeing their mother partly due to the half-naked photos she posted on Instagram since her conservatorship was dismissed.

After previously praising her father for placing her under a conservatorship, for her person and estate for 13 years, Federline recently claimed he felt ‘mortified’ for what the ‘princess of pop’ had to endure. The 44-year-old said:

“The boys, the boys, the boys. I had to worry about them.”

Federline admitted:

“I couldn’t get involved.”

Mark Vincent, Federline’s attorney, elaborated on their sons missing their mother’s wedding:

“Although the boys will not be in attendance, Kevin and the boys are happy for Britney and wish her and Sam all the best going forward.”

Federline alleged:

“The boys have decided they are not seeing her right now. It’s been a few months since they’ve seen her. They made the decision not to go to her wedding.”

In the surfaced clip, Federline appeared emotional as he said he was affected by seeing his ex-wife struggle against her conservatorship. He said:

“I was mortified for her. I really was.”

He added:

“I still feel bad.”

Federline also shared what it was like being married to the 40-year-old. He said:

“It was amazing — until it wasn’t.”

The ex-couple dated for three months back in 2004. They got engaged in July and were married by September of that year. Spears filed for divorce in November of 2006 after her children were born, with it being finalized in 2007. The singer responded to Federline’s claims in an Instagram post, before deleting her account, on Saturday (Aug. 6):

“It saddens me to hear that my ex husband has decided to discuss the relationship between me and my children.”

 Spears continued:

“As we all know, raising teenage boys is never easy for anyone … it concerns me the fact that the reason is based on my Instagram … it was LONG before Instagram … I gave them every thing … Only one word: HURTFUL.”

In a statement, Sam Asghari also denied Federline’s claims:

“The boys are very smart and will be 18 soon to make their own decisions and may eventually realize the “tough” part was having a father who hasn’t worked much in over 15 years as a role model.”
