Kanye West’s Episode Of ‘The Shop’ Gets Booted Due To ‘Extremely Dangerous Stereotypical’ Remarks: Hate Speech Should Never Have An Audience
Kanye West spoke his mind in another interview, but this time it will not air.
According to reports, Yeezy founder Kanye West was invited to do an episode of “The Shop,” but due to the questionable comments he made while on the series, the interview was pulled and will not be airing. As you may already know “The Shop: Uninterrupted” is an HBO chat-style interview series that is hosted by basketball star LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter. In a recently released statement, Maverick Carter, the Spring Hill Company CEO, said,
“Yesterday we taped an episode of The Shop with Kanye West. Kanye was booked weeks ago and, after talking to Kanye directly the day before we taped, I believed he was capable of a respectful discussion and he was ready to address all his recent comments. Unfortunately, he used The Shop to reiterate more hate speech and extremely dangerous stereotypes.”
Maverick Carter continued:
“We have made the decision not to air this episode or any of Kanye’s remarks. While The Shop embraces thoughtful discourse and differing opinions, we have zero tolerance for hate speech of any kind and will never allow our channels to be used to promote hate.”
Carter added:
“I take full responsibility for believing Kanye wanted a different conversation and apologize to our guests and crew. Hate speech should never have an audience.”
According to the production’s sources, Grammy-Award-winner Kanye West reiterated his recent anti-semitic comments during the interview. As previously reported, controversy took the world by storm when he called the Black Lives Matter movement a “scam” following his presentation for his “white lives matter” t-shirts at Paris Fashion Week. The “Homecoming” artist’s social media accounts were blocked after he displayed a conversation between himself and Diddy threatening to use the Revolt CEO as “an example” to the Jewish people. This comes after Diddy appeared on “The Breakfast Club” disagreeing with West’s “white lives matter” design. Diddy said:
“Right now all America has planned for us is poverty, incarceration, and death. So before I can get to any other lives matter—which all lives matter—that Black Lives Matter, don’t play with it. Don’t wear the shirt. Don’t buy the shirt. Don’t play with the shirt. It’s not a joke.”
