Banning Kanye West‘s music in light of controversial actions and comments may sound familiar, as it’s the same path R. Kelly found himself on as several women began to expose the disgraced R&B singer for sexual assault. And while Kanye West hasn’t found himself at the center of such claims, many people are still weighing in on the topic. In fact, the topic may R. Kelly‘s name trend across social meida.
One Twitter user said,
“R.Kelly & Kanye are perfect examples why I don’t read into these celebrities personal lives, cause it takes away from the ARTISTRY of MUSIC. say what you want but they both make great music”
Another Twitter user added,
“Some of yall can’t even stop playing music from a child predator at the function but yall are on here talking about accountability, please.”
“Ni**as still listen to R Kelly whose songs are about the children he abused so are we surprised Kanye still got clout after saying slavery was a choice ? that would mean holding black men accountable and y’all know they don’t wanna do that”
Another user said,
So many musicians more specifically rappers are rapists and murderers, ban every artist with a sexual assault charge or who has been connected to a murder before you ban Kanye. Why is R Kelly and King Von’s music still available?
Another Twitter user chimed in and said:
“Adidas didn’t cancel Kanye West when he made all his comments on Black people!” Blacks didn’t unite to boycott him, because y’all wanted to be dripped in Yeezy & y’all wanted to praise him & his Sunday Service church cult. Hell, some of y’all still haven’t canceled R. Kelly..”
