Khloé Kardashian Says ‘It’s Not That Easy To Un-Love An Ex,’ While Reflecting On Past Relationships w/ Tristan Thompson & Lamar Odom
It’s no secret that Khloé Kardashian has had her share of heartbreaks and public criticism when it comes to her relationships, but it’s all been a learning experience.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, the two women — who are both divorcées — opened up about their failed relationships and what it takes to “learn to un-love.” The reality TV star and member of the Kardashian clan was, of course, asked about Tristan Thompson and Lamar Odom.
While speaking about the love she seemingly once had for the two men, Khloé Kardashian said,
“No, I don’t think it goes away. Like, my ex-husband [Lamar Odom], I genuinely still love and I want the best for him. I’m rooting for him. We all, I think, just change or evolve — or you know sometimes that it’s just not a right fit for you.”
She continued,
“When I said I’m learning how to un-love Tristan, I think people — whether it be family or friends, or anyone you’re telling your story to — they’re like ‘Okay, so move on.'”
Simply put, according to Khloé Kardashian,
“It’s not that easy.”
Khloé and Lamar Odom were married from 2009 until 2016. She filed for divorce in 2013 after he was arrested for drunk driving. However, the process was put on hold when the athlete was discovered unconscious at a Nevada brothel in 2015 following an almost fatal overdose. Khloé has been credited by Lamar as his “angel” for aiding in his recovery. Fast forward to 2016, she submitted her final and second divorce petition.
Soon after, in the same year, she began dating Tristan Thompson, and they dated intermittently until 2021. They share two children together, daughter True, and a baby boy whose name and exact birth date remain unknown.
Tristan Thompson shares a son Prince, now 5, with ex Jordan Craig. He also shares a son named Theo, born this year, with a woman named Maralee Nichols whom he allegedly cheated on Khloé with.
Following reports that Khloé was expecting a second child via surrogate with Tristan, Lamar Odom, a former Los Angeles Lakers player, told a reporter he would have gladly assisted his ex in growing her family.
During an episode of Hulu’s The Kardashians, Khloé revealed that she turned down a secret marriage proposal from Tristan in December 2020 before their final breakup. Her reason for doing so? She wasn’t ready, which she knew because she wasn’t proud or excited to share the news with her family. The Good American founder said,
“I need to make sure this is a totally different relationship because I want to be proud to say I’m engaged to anyone and that’s why I said I’m not comfortable accepting this right now because I’m not excited to tell my family.”
Khloé [and Kelly] are single, at least as far as the public eye is concerned — but the Kardashian sister is very much open to dating.
