NBA YoungBoy Surpasses Jay Z For Solo Rappers w/The Most Charting Albums On Billboard Top 200

Looks like rap star NBA YoungBoy is moving up the Billboard record holder charts.

According to a tweet from the “Outside Today”, the artist’s most recent project scored him his 24th entry on the top 200 album chart. With the success of the album, titled Ma’ I Got A Family, NBA YoungBoy – real name Kentrell DeSean Gaulden, surpassed rap vet Jay Z who currently has 23 entries on the chart.

YoungBoy’s project, which dropped this past Friday (October 28th), debuted number 7 on the Billboard 200. The album features the self titled “queen of rap” herself Nicki Minaj as well as breakout artist Yeat.

While the record did push YoungBoy past HOV on having the most albums charting the 200, it’s reportedly noted that Jay Z ‘s #1 entries remain supreme. Another tweet from Billboard explains The “God Did” rapper has 14 hits that went #1, while YoungBoy’s total sits at 3. It’s also noted that Jay Z’s collaboration album with wife and fellow musician Beyoncé titled Everything Is Love is not included on the solo rapper’s chart.

Reportedly, YoungBoy set a lofty goal for himself this year, revealing plans to release 10 mixtapes in a single year. The 23-year-old father of 10 is close to the finish line with his latest project putting him at 6 in 2022. The Louisiana native also released Colors in January, Better than You with DaBaby in March, The Last Slimeto in August, Realer 2 in September, and 3800 Degrees last month.

It seems the young musician is focusing all his energy in his music and attempting to steer clear of the drama. Last month, the rapper got into a heated social media exchange with comedian Druski for making an insensitive joke about his fiancée. The two later made up, however, going live on instagram to hash things out.

There’s also YoungBoy’s tumultuous love life. The musician shares a child with Floyd Mayweather’s daughter Yaya Mayweather who caught a case after allegedly stabbing another of his children’s mothers. Yaya avoided jail time, though she did receive a substantial amount of probation time.

Should the YoungBoy achieve his goal, he’ll reportedly beat out mixtape legends such as Lil Wayne and Gucci. However, Lil B reportedly still holds the title for most mixtapes released in a year, dropping 16 back in 2012.
