MSNBC Drops Tiffany Cross’ Weekend Show
MSNBC weekend host Tiffany Cross has been suddenly let go by the network.
According to sources, the production staff of Tiffany Cross’s show The Cross Connection was informed of the decision on Friday (Nov. 4). The network decided not to renew the show after two years and decided to cut ties with Cross immediately.
A rotation of guest hosts will fill Cross’s weekend time slots until a permanent replacement is found. The production team will remain at the network. A source confirmed that there were concerns at the network that Cross’s commentary, on the show and elsewhere, did not meet the network’s editorial standards.
While sources claim that this decision was not due to any one specific incident, they did point out that this past Thursday night, Tiffany Cross referred to Florida as “the d*ck of the country” during an appearance on Charlamagne tha God’s Comedy Central show. During the episode, host, Charlamagne Tha God, asked his roundtable of guests which state the Democrats could afford to lose in the midterm elections. Cross replied,
“Florida literally looks like the d–k of the country, so let’s get rid of Florida. Let’s castrate Florida.”
This move may have been the final straw for MSNBC.
Cross has also come under intense fire from conservative media over her harsh commentary about race and white Americans, which caused her show to become a source of controversy for MSNBC.
Some of Cross’ other controversial remarks included calling out the new co-host of “The View,” former Trump White House communications director Alyssa Farah Griffin, as a “tawdry turncoat Trump loyalist.” When speaking about the alleged Trump election interference, she called for progressives to “pick up a weapon and get involved” in the “war” for the survival of the country.
