Chlöe Bailey Wins First Award As A Solo Artist
Chlöe Bailey is now an award-winning solo artist!
The actress and songbird won her first award as a soloist at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and she couldn’t be more proud of herself.
She celebrated her win via Instagram, saying,
“i won best R&B EMA
my first solo award
thank you God i am so happy!!!!!”

She also reacted to the news via Twitter. Chlöe Bailey said,
“omg guys i’m crying in my hotel room. my first solo award win. i didn’t even think i was going to win, omg thank you guys”

During an Instagram Live after learning of her win, Chlöe Bailey said,
“It’s my first like, solo win ever. … I was too excited, I saw on my phone before and I started crying. God is amazing, thank you guys for voting. I love you all, I didn’t even think I was going to win. … I wish I was there at the show, it was my first one. But I’m so happy. I just wanted to thank you guys. I’m not going to cry, but it was like the perfect sign because you know when you start doubting yourself and everything. So, it really made me happy.”

The MTV EMAS honor the top musicians from around the world as well as the best music of the year. Giveon, H.E.R, Summer Walker, Khalid and Sza were also nominated in the category with Chlöe.
Chlöe was previously part of the R&B duo ChloexHalle alongside her younger sister, Halle Bailey. The girls were founded and mentored by Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. As a duo, they are the recipients of two NAACP Image Awards and were nominated for a slew of others, including five Grammys.
She made her solo debut in 2021 when she released “Have Mercy,” which was on her debut studio album. Chlöe previously shared that while she and her sister always planned to do their own thing at some point, the pandemic and Halle Bailey‘s acting career led to it happening sooner than expected.
Chlöe said,
“You know, I had to do a lot of soul searching. I had to talk to myself a lot and remind myself that my voice is special and what I have to say matters. Because I did have a bit of separation anxiety, where I was like, ‘am I even good on my own?’ I was even doubting my singing voice and my ability to perform. Because I love to perform. I love to dance. So there was a lot of that.”
It was previously reported that Chlöe and her parents don’t have the same close relationship they once did, with many people speculating it’s because of her sexualized image as a solo artist.
Congratulations to Chlöe! Are you looking forward to new music from the star? Let us know in the comments!
