Nicki Minaj Fans Are Not Pleased That She Received Zero Grammy Nominations
Nicki Minaj didn’t nab any Grammy nominations this go ’round, and the Barbz are not happy.
Latto and GloRilla, two up-and-coming rappers, are competing for their first-ever awards at the highly coveted ceremony. GloRilla‘s smash single “F.N.F.” earned her a nomination for Best Rap Performance, while Latto received a nomination for Best New Artist.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Adele are competing against one another for album of the year at the 2019 Grammy Awards, with “Renaissance” and “30,” respectively, receiving nominations. Both of the musical superstars are competing for awards for record and song of the year.
Beyoncé Knowles-Carter is nominated for nine Grammys, including best dance/electronic album (“Renaissance”) and best R&B performance (“Virgo’s Groove”). Adele, on the other hand, received seven nominations.
The queen of the Bey-hive now shares the record for the most Grammy nominations with her rapper husband Jay-Z, who has 88 nominations overall and 28 wins to his credit. If she wins four or more awards this year, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter would surpass the late Georg Solti in terms of all-time Grammy victories.
R&B singer Muni Long is also in the category for Best New Artist.
Nicki Minaj has never won a Grammy award despite being nominated for 10 of them, including best rap album for her 2014 album The Pinkprint — and her fan base wasted no time calling out the alleged discrimination on Tuesday.

According to one Twitter user,
“Nicki Minaj not be nominated FOR ANYTHING AT THE GRAMMYS is blatant racism pretty much telling the black girl like shut up b*tch who do you think you are to speak out against unfairness and equality I’m not even saying she had to win but to not even been nominated crazy”
Another Twitter user added,
They will intentionally give both Glorilla and L@tto a Grammy. Just wait. The idea is to award every single female rapper with one except for Nicki Minaj, the most successful, highest selling and most certified female rapper in history. It’s sick.
According to a Nicki Minaj fan account,
“Nicki Minaj is the most snubbed and black balled artist in the industry.”
In a response to a tweet claiming that the 2023 Grammys is predicted to have its lowest viewership ever since its debut in 1959, another user replied and said it’s because their fave (Nicki) wasn’t nominated.
Doja Cat, who was nominated for multiple awards this year, including her third consecutive nod for Record of the Year, also appeared to address Nicki‘s snub.
Latto previously sparred with Nicki Minaj, her former idol, on the upcoming awards ceremony. “Super Freaky Girl,” a hit rap song by Nicki, was supposedly shifted to the pop category but Latto‘s comparable song, “Energy,” was permitted to stay in the rap category, which upset Nicki. Nicki said that the Grammys were conspiring to lower her chances of winning.
The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles will host the 65th annual Grammy Awards on February 5.
