Bryshere Gray – ‘Empire’ Star Arrested & Released For Violating Probation In Domestic Abuse Case, Actor Claims He ‘Doesn’t Even Know’ Where The Allegations Are Coming From

Bryshere Gray has found himself facing some serious legal troubles, once again. 

Former “Empire” actor Bryshere Gray was arrested for allegedly violating his probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault. According to reports, a woman contacted police in Maricopa, Arizona last week and claimed she was dating Bryshere Gray but “his behavior was escalating and she was concerned for her safety.” In court documents, the woman alleged the 28-year-old threw a box of food at her while also tugging at her hair.

Law enforcement says the actor has been in trouble lately with the law, referring back to a domestic-related disturbance call they received last month. Gray, also known as Yazz, allegedly failed to report these incidents to his probation officer and was hit with a probation violation. A judge signed a warrant which led to his arrest.

However, according to new reports, the actor has since been released. In a video making its rounds on the internet, Gray gave a brief interview about his ongoing legal issues. Allegedly, the video was filmed after the entertainer was released from his recent time behind bars. In part, he said, 

“Man, to be honest, I don’t even know where these allegations are coming from, but, you know, let’s talk about all the good things that’s going on in the world…I’m out here doing my new single, you know, giving back to the community. Let’s talk about that.”

He then claimed that he “doesn’t even know” the woman making allegations against him.

When asked if his former “Empire” co-stars have reached out to him to make sure he’s okay, Gray replied,

“Yeah, you know, we’re like family.”

As previously reported, Gray spent 10 days in county jail and was placed on three years of probation after pleading guilty to aggravated assault in 2021. He was arrested last summer following his wife’s claims of domestic abuse. Court document state that Gray was abusing his wife consistently in their Phoenix home before she escaped and called for help. The Pennsylvania native allegedly held a standoff when police arrived, barricading himself inside the house. He was eventually apprehended.
