Lil Cam’s Attorney’s Vehemently Deny Speculations That His Client Is Responsible For Fatally Shooting Takeoff: There’s A Difference Between Carrying A Weapon & A Shooting Case
The tragic murder of late rapper Takeoff continues to be investigated.
In recent developments, rapper Lil Cam 5th, who’s been highly suspected by social media users of being the triggerman, is being defended by his legal team.

As previously reported, Migos member Kirshnik ‘Takeoff‘ Ball was killed after being shot multiple times in Houston last month. While the investigation is ongoing, 22-year-old Joshua ‘Lil Cam‘ Cameron was arrested on November 22nd and charged with two counts of felon with a weapon. Many speculated the arrest could mean Cam was responsible for the fatal shooting. Especially since Cam is seen in video footage that circulated after the shooting took place.

However, Cam’s attorney, Christopher Downey, alleges that his client is definitely not responsible for the shooting. During a recent debriefing, he stated:
“Cameron Joshua did not shoot Takeoff…He wants to get out. He wants to clear his name.”

Downey explained that Cam was arrested due to a bond violation from a previous unrelated case involving a fraudulent ID. Cementing the notion that his client is innocent of fatally shooting Takeoff, he continued:
“I think the DA’s office knows the difference between carrying a weapon and a shooting case, and if they thought he was involved in the shooting, they would have charged him with it,”
When Cam was initially arrested, prosecutors also stated that he was not at the time a suspect in the Takeoff murder investigation. Reportedly, another member of Cam’s legal team recently insinuated that he may be open to working with police, however, to name the killer.
As of today (December 1st), no suspects have been arrested or charged with Takeoff’s murder.
