Al Roker Reportedly Not Out Of The Woods Yet Following Ongoing Health Issues, Doctors Fear

Weather anchor Al Roker has been in and out of the hospital, and medical professionals are allegedly afraid of what the future will hold.

If you don’t know, Al Roker recently raised a lot of concerns after fans noticed his extended absence from ‘The Today Show.’

However, in mid-November, he took to his Instagram to share an update on his whereabouts and the reason behind his brief departure from his on-air duties.

Underneath a photo of a flower arrangement, Al Roker disclosed that he’d been battling blood clots in his legs and lungs.

“So many of you have been thoughtfully asking where I’ve been. Last week I was admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in my leg which sent some clots into my lungs. After some medical whack-a-mole, I am so fortunate to be getting terrific medical care and on the way to recovery. Thanks for all the well wishes and prayers and hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend, everyone.”

Subsequent to a number of admittances for his health, just a week ago, the 68-year-old revealed that he had finally returned home. Upon his arrival, on Wednesday (Dec. 14), Roker expressed that his ‘Today’ family had shown up at his doorstep with a few Christmas carols to sing to him.

But… while Roker’s loved ones are in celebration of his improvement, medical experts seemingly fear that things could take a turn for the worst, according to RadarOnline.

Dr. Stuart Fisher said,

“Clots like these can be very serious. They can lead to sudden death or severe heart episodes.”

Longevity expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin added:

“The clots can travel to his heart and lungs and cause shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, and dangerous, irregular heartbeats.”

Although blood thinners would be ideal to prevent further clotting occurrences, Dr. Jerome Spunberg explained the hazards the medication could cause.

He consulted,

“Anti-coagulants can lead to their own risks, including hemorrhages, which can lead to anemia, strokes, or death.”

Roker has been through quite a lot. In 2020, he survived prostate cancer, along with previously undergoing a hip replacement and surgeries on his shoulders.

Our deepest prayers go out to him during this tough time.
