Megan Thee Stallion’s Former Stylist EJ King Responds To Backlash For Posts He Shared Online Following Court Appearance For Tory Lanez Shooting Trial: I Don’t Need To Poke Fun At Anybody Else’s Pain Or Trauma

EJ King is making it clear that he has no intentions of being insensitive about his former client’s trauma.

On Tuesday (Dec. 20) Megan Thee Stallion’s former stylist EJ King took to Instagram to share a court photo dump of the outfit that he wore while giving his testimony at the Tory Lanez shooting trial. After sharing multiple posts relating to his time in court online, the fashionista was labeled as insensitive for adding the “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit ” theme song to a video of him being swarmed by the press as he left the courtroom. EJ King captioned the thread:

“My day in court was exhausting but it’s over and done with!!! Speak your truth and leave it there.”

Fans found the posts distasteful and called the stylist out for having “weirdo behavior.” A Twitter user said:

“EJ King posting the Law & Order music after testifying in court is not funny. None of this is funny. Praying for Megan.”

As previously reported, Canadian rapper Tory Lanez is being accused of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in her feet in the summer of 2020 following a heated argument.

Today (Dec. 21), EJ addressed fans who called him out for being “unserious” for the posts he shared online after his court visit. He said,

“I just wanna touch on this real quick before I jump on my flight. I been seeing these comments about the song I put over my post.”

EJ continued:

“To know me is I put music over everything. Every video, every post, if it fits the moment, I’ll find a song that fit. That’s just something I do. I don’t need to poke fun at anybody else’s pain or trauma or make a joke.”

He then touched on critics who had an issue with the pink blazer he wore to court.

“I was subpoenaed to come to court. This is a very serious situation but it was my day in court. That’s how I felt. I didn’t say any names. I didn’t make any references. I didn’t do nothing of the sort where people talking about ‘oh you treated court like a fashion show.’”

He concluded:

“I treated court like a public thing. I was going to be seen by the public so I would never look crazy. I like my outfit. I liked how I looked. Literally the people in court liked how I looked, that’s something that I can’t control but I don’t need to poke fun or be insensitive to anybody else’s situation, that’s y’all being insensitive. That ain’t me.”
