Oprah Winfrey Stunned By Fan Who Says Her $100 Christmas Gift Suggestion Is ‘Too Expensive’: Lower Than $100?!

Oprah Winfrey is here for giving shopping tips for this holiday season, but her suggested gifts might cost you a pretty penny.

Billionaire media mogul Oprah Winfrey was recently asked for gift-giving advice.

After a fan made the TV personality aware that a $100 gift was out of his budget, the OWN network owner looked visibly shocked.

The 60-year-old was stopped by flashing cameras and raving fans when the hilarious interaction took place. One bystander asked Winfrey for advice about getting his mother, who apparently isn’t doing well, a good gift. Winfrey humbly obliges the fan, informing him of a beautiful red jewelry box that appeared in her annual “Oprah’s Favorite Things” segment.

Before hearing the price, the man immediately figured the item would be well out of his price range, stating:

“That’s too expensive for me”

To which Winfrey responds:

“No it’s not, it’s really not. Its like $100 something dollars”

However, even after hearing the price, the man notes again that the price tag is a little too much, saying:

“A little lower in my price budget”

To which a visibly shocked Winfrey replies:

“Lower than $100 dollars?!” 

The man goes on to insist that his mother would care for a more sentimental gift. Even being thrown a curveball, it seems the famed TV host was able to come through. Winfrey’s next suggestion was for the man to get a beautiful card for his mother and list the top 10 reasons why he loves her. Agreeing that the advice was indeed thoughtful and sentimental, it seems the fan was happy with the advice.

Social media users in the comment section of the now-viral video, however, had conflicting opinions about the interaction. Some users joked that Winfrey, with a net worth of $2.6 billion, is likely out of touch, and couldn’t suggest the man anything lower than the $100 item. Others, however, seem to think both of Winfrey’s suggestions were sufficient, adding the decorated media personality handled the situation with grace.
