Simon Cowell Reportedly In Talks To Relaunch ‘The X Factor’ In The US

“The X Factor” might be making its American return!

“The X Factor,” which originally started off as a British music reality competition series, aired in the US on September 21, 2011. The American version of the popular franchise ran for 80 episodes, 3 seasons, and wrapped on December 19, 2013. The most successful singing act to emerge from the series is Fifth Harmony, which was comprised of Normani, Ally Brooke, Dinah Jane, Lauren Jauregui, and Camila Cabello. However, after Camila Cabello left the group in 2016, two years later the remaining members ultimately decided to pursue solo careers as well.

It now appears that Simon Cowell has his eyes set on creating more chart-topping singing groups. According to new reports, talks are underway to revive the series on NBC. Simon Cowell recently spoke on the chance of “The X Factor” (US) returning and reportedly shared that the network had,

“offered us to make the show.”

Key details surrounding the rumored reboot have yet to be revealed.

As previously reported, in 2021 it was announced that after 17 years on the air, the British version of “The X Factor” was coming to an end. Reportedly, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the series was only meant to take a brief hiatus. However, a spokesperson for the UK broadcaster ITV eventually revealed that the series would not be returning after all. They shared,

“There are no current plans for the next series of ‘The X Factor’ at this stage.”

“The X Factor” (UK) is responsible for launching the careers of many big-named groups and celebrities, including; “One Direction,” “Little Mix,” Leona Lewis, and Olly Murs.
