Exclusive: Singing Reality Series ‘BET Presents: The Encore’ Lands Second Season Featuring All-New Cast
Are you ready to see some of your fav singing legends hit the small screen?
theJasmineBrand exclusively reports that the popular reality series “BET Presents: The Encore” is making its way back to your TV soon! As you may recall, the series centers around musical artists who are seemingly ready for their comeback. “BET Presents: The Encore” initially aired on June 9, 2021, and drew in over 2 million viewers in its premiere.
During season one, nine former R&B girl group members & solo artists formed a supergroup in hopes of creating an album within 30 days. The cast featured Shamari Devoe (of Blaque), 702 sisters Irish and LeMisha Grinstead, Nivea, Cherish twins Fallon and Felisha King, Pamela Long (of Total), Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day, and Kiely Williams (of 3LW & The Cheetah Girls). Even though all of the ladies didn’t make it to the finale, BluPrint was ultimately formed.
According to our sources, season two will feature an entirely new cast, and this time around you might even see a few male singing legends appear on the series.
Our insiders added that production is working on securing big names for the upcoming season such as Tank and Erykah Badu.
It may come as no surprise that “The Encore” is looking to add a few male superstars to the series. During an exclusive interview with theJasmineBrand last year, Carlos King — the series’ producer — shared his plans for season two. When asked if he’d ever consider a “male version” of the show he replied,
“I think that would be dope!”
He continued,
“To see a male version of former boy band members, like, imagine Sisqó, Raz-B, Q Parker, Day 26…like, imagine these amazing boy bands working on something, I think that’ll be dope!”
He added,
“So, if we’re blessed with the opportunity for that to happen, I would definitely take advantage of it.”
