Odell Beckham Jr. Blasts Critics After Bodycam Footage Of Him Being Kicked Off Flight Is Released + Claims Passenger He Got Into Heated Dispute w/ Called Him ‘Everything But The N-Word’
It looks like Odell Beckham Jr. is confronting his critics.
As previously reported, the 30-year-old wide receiver was removed from a plane back in November after flight attendants claimed Odell Beckham Jr. “refused to comply with safety protocol.”
Now, the athlete is taking to social media to set the record straight and confront his naysayers. In a string of tweets, Odell Beckham Jr. noted he is staying true to himself despite the criticism.
He wrote,
“can’t address everything in this world, it’s exhausting. Errbody got an opinion on situations they weren’t involved in. All u can do is kno who u truly are. Purell only kills 99.9% of germs…there’s always gon be a lil left over.”
He then said since the incident he has been laying low and minding his own business.
“Krazy thing is since the SB. I been minding my own biz, staying out the way. Name ain’t been in nothin , and even during this free agency frenzy it was never me who caused any of that I beeen QUIET chilllin. “They” wrote the stories. Been enjoyin fatherhood and time wit the fam.”
He continued,
“But the one thing that no matter how much I’ve grown is still the hardest thing for me to do. Is let someone play wit my name. Period. For those tht kno me kno me, u kno exactly how I am. I really be koolin. But…..”
According to Beckham, he typically remains calm unless pushed to a breaking point.
“But…..if u press that button and bring a certain energy. Do NOT be surprised when u get that same energy back.”
He added,
“I kno who I am. Period. All the rest and opinions really don’t matter to me. Have a blessed day and enjoy the [cheese] board.”
While interacting with replies to his tweets, Odell Beckham Jr. revealed what promoted his verbal dispute with one of the passengers on the flight. He tweeted,
“I can’t lie I was so mad…… bro really said everything but the N-word to me… he had to get it … if him and the other white gentleman wouldn’t of looked to me with such and entitling manner. I woulda removed myself from the plane. That’s the real reason everyone had to get off”
As previously reported, bodycam footage, captured by Miami-Dade Police, of the free agent being removed from his flight on Nov. 27 made its way onto social media this week. According to the American Airlines crew on the Los Angeles-bound plane, Odell Beckham Jr. “appeared to be in and out of consciousness” as they attempted to wake him to have him fasten his seatbelt before takeoff. However, after the famed athlete allegedly denied their request, attendants contacted the police, asking for his removal.
The newly released video footage seemingly features an unhappy Odell Beckham Jr. talking with authorities. The 30-year-old said:
“I’ve never had this happen to me.”
The officer on the scene left Beckham with no choice but to depart the plane.
“We’re going to have to deplane everybody on this plane, and then you’re still going to get off.”
Seemingly unbothered, the former New York Giants player replied:
“That’s fine.”
However, as another passenger grabbed their luggage to evacuate the plane, things took a left turn. The unnamed person reportedly told Beckham to get off the plane and he replied:
“You’re everything wrong with the world.”
He continued,
“Looking at me to get off a plane, for you — I would never, ever in my life get off the plane for you. Specifically you. Maybe everybody else, I would get off the plane.”
Implying that he didn’t need American Airlines to get to his destination, Beckham bragged:
“You gon’ wait 40 minutes and I’m going to be on a private plane home. Yeah, with your fat *ss. Get your *ss off the plane for a second.”
He added:
“Enjoy the cheese board on the way home with your ugly *ss.”
