Kanye’s 2024 Presidential Campaign Has Received Zero Donations
Kanye West — Rapper’s 2024 Presidential Bid Reportedly Racked Up Zero Dollars in 2022
Kanye West‘s presidential campaign is seemingly not off to a good start.
The rapper and designer reportedly brought in zero dollars in 2022 for his unofficial 2024 presidential campaign.
Kanye West‘s political action committee — known as Kanye 2020 — disclosed in a filing on Monday that it had incurred expenses totaling $142,000 in the final quarter of 2022 but had not received any contributions during that time.
Despite the fact that Kanye West hasn’t formally declared his candidacy—which necessitates submitting papers to the FEC—he did broadcast what appeared to be a campaign video in November. Ye shared a video on Twitter that was later removed and several others on social media, one of which featured a “Ye 24” logo.
According to the campaign filing, Nick Fuentes, a 24-year-old live streamer who has been branded a “white supremacist” by the U.S. Justice Department, received payments from Ye‘s political committee totaling $9,026.46 and $5,693.41 in travel reimbursements.
Controversial far-right conservative Milo Yiannopoulos was also given two payments by Ye‘s PAC: one for $9,955 and one for $40,000. Payments for campaign services and a domain transfer, according to the filing, were made. Prior to being dismissed last month, Yiannopoulos served as a sort of campaign manager for Ye.
Ye‘s 2024 run would be his second attempt at presidency.
The musician announced his initial candidacy for president in 2020, at a time when his personal life with his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian was turbulent and he had a history of acting erratically. He shared extremely private information about his family at the sole event he held as part of his campaign.
In the end, he received almost 60,000 votes in 12 states.
