Regina Hall Shares Coronavirus Pandemic Is To Blame For Delay Of ‘Girls Trip’ Sequel: People Were Really Waiting For Things To Calm Down
Just like the fans, Regina Hall is patiently waiting for “Girls Trip 2!”
In a recent interview, actress Regina Hall revealed that the long-overdue sequel to the 2017 “Girls Trip” film was initially delayed due to the cast and crew being “busy.” However, once everyone was ready to get to work, the world was unexpectedly hit with a pandemic.
Regina Hall, 52, detailed:
“So then, when you lock in the time — when you’re like, ‘Oh, we can do it now’ — a pandemic comes. And then it’s like, ‘Well, we’ve got to wait.'”

Regina Hall then noted that “people were really waiting for things to calm down” to proceed with the sequel. During her interview, Hall also shared that she “found out in real-time with everyone else” that “Girls Trip 2” will take place in Ghana. The actress shared:
“So I’m assuming that that’s going to be fun, I’m excited to see the girls again and to make something hopefully that the fans love.”
She added:
“I think the biggest thing is we had so much fun making the first one, and I just look forward to just having that kind of fun again and that audiences will hopefully love it as well.”

In addition to Regina Hall, “Girls Trip” also stars actresses Tiffany Haddish, Queen Latifah, and Jada Pinkett Smith. The four ladies portray friends who initially met in college and travel to New Orleans for Essence Music Festival to bond together years after graduation.
Hall isn’t the only one excited about the sequel to the film. As previously reported, last month paparazzi caught up with Tiffany Haddish and got her thoughts about “Girls Trip” co-writer Tracey Oliver confirming that part two of the franchise is in the works. Tiffany Haddish said:
“She says it every year and I look forward to it.”
Haddish continued:
“I will do anything with those women. I love those people. I love everybody that worked on that. We had a blast. They wanna work with me, I wanna work with them.”
The 43-year-old added:
“…And I know that the girls would love it too. We talked about it often.”
