Dr. Contessa Metcalfe Trends As Viewers React To Claims That She’s Not Returning To ‘Married To Medicine’ & Has Been Replaced By Phaedra Parks

It looks like the ‘Married to Medicine’ cast is getting a major shake-up!

According to reports, cast members Dr. Contessa Metcalfe and Anila Sajja are getting the boot. The ladies have allegedly been replaced with ‘Real Housewives Of Atlanta’ alum Phaedra Parks.

The news was first reported on Carlos King‘s Reality With The King podcast and quickly spread like wildfire. Now, fans are reacting to the news. Many are excited to see Phaedra Parks back on their TV screens, while others are sad to see Dr. Contessa Metcalfe go.

One user wrote,

“Contessa is married to medicine professionally and actually. How you axe her before Quad? When contessa’s marriage has been the topic of the last two seasons or so. Make it make sense. She ain’t that boring.”

“Phaedra coming to SAVE the show”

Someone else had a different opinion on Phaedra joining the cast,

“Another actual doctor and doctors wife has been canned. Meanwhile, we still have to look at Quad, and I don’t believe Phaedra story about dating a doctor. You probably will never see him on the show.”

While Anila Sajja was still considered a newbie to the franchise, Dr. Contessa Metcalfe has been a part of the show since season 5.

Rumors of Phaedra Parks joining Married to Medicine first surfaced back in January.

Bravo reality series’ producers allegedly invited the RHOA alum to return, but she demanded an exorbitant sum of money that they weren’t willing to give. Instead, they asked her to join Married to Medicine, which has a budget that is comparable to what Phaedra Parks requested.

The addition of Parks was teased during a panel at BravoCon 22, which also featured Married to Medicine stars Dr. Jackie Walters, Dr. Simone Whitmore, Anila Sajja, and RHOA‘s Drew Sidora. In response to a question about her love life, Phaedra Parks said,

“I’m actually dating a doctor. I don’t want to tell you about him but I’ve actually dated him for about a year.”

Similar to RHOA, Married to Medicine follows socialite women in Atlanta as they juggle their careers, family, and social calendars. The show differs in that every woman shown is either a doctor or a doctor’s wife.

Dr. Contessa has yet to speak out about her rumored departure.
