Kel Mitchell Wants Ex-Wife Sanctioned For $12K Over Her Continual Claims That He Owes Her $1M In Support Payments & Is An Absentee Father: ‘She Will Do Whatever She Can To Get A Hold Of My Assets’
Actor Kel Mitchell wants his ex-wife Tyisha Hampton fined for allegedly spreading lies about him.
According to RadarOnline, Kel Mitchell has filed his own documents asking for the court’s help in the ongoing dispute between the former couple. The 44-year-old comedian is accusing his ex of portraying him as an absentee father as she continues to claim he owes her over a million dollars in back support.
As previously reported, Tyisha Hampton recently requested that a judge order the former Nickelodeon star to pay her for (alleged) back support. Her request came after the court initially ruled that Kel Mitchell didn’t owe her any money. However, in the motion asking for the ruling to be reversed, Tyisha Hampton claimed her ex owes her $1.9 million in backed spousal and child support payments.
According to recent reports, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ruled that Kel did not owe any back support to Tyisha. The court reportedly found Tyisha had received funds from the sale of their marital home and that was applied to any support owed.
Reportedly, Kel claimed he has tried to talk to Tyisha since the court ruled in his favor, but she continued to allege he owed her money. As a result, Kel reportedly wants the actress sanctioned for $12,300 to put an end to their battle.
Kel said his ex,
“alleges that all the attorneys, including her own counsel, and judges are committing fraud and conspiring against her.”
In addition, Kel reportedly said over the years his ex-wife placed liens on his bank accounts. He said Tyisha also placed a lien on his current residence, which prevents him from refinancing, selling the home, or doing anything that requires the title, reports state.
Kel said,
“Tyisha will not withdraw the lien or have it expunged. She will do whatever she can to get a hold of my assets, despite having no grounds to do so.”
Kel reportedly wants all liens removed from his accounts and Tyisha fined.
Kel and Tyisha were reportedly married from April 23, 1999, to August 15, 2005. They share two children, Lyric Mitchell and Allure Mitchell.
Kell also said in his court documents,
“I have been put through the wringer for almost two decades. I have done everything I can to work with her through this process. All she has done is drag me and my family through the mud.”
