Nipsey Hussle’s Ex Reflects On Rapper’s Death Amid Custody Battle w/ His Family: ‘I Wish I Was There, I Would’ve Took Those Bullets’
Nipsey Hussle’s child’s mother is still grieving the loss of the rapper.
On Monday (Mar. 13) Tanisha Foster, the mother of the rapper’s 13-year-old daughter Emani, took to her Instagram story to publically mourn Nipsey Hussle. Tanisha Foster wrote:
“I miss my child’s father I wish he was here to see my accomplishments.”
Tanisha Foster added:
“You guys are fans of my child’s father and when I post him it’s a problem. It’s almost 4 years of him being gone so just think how I feel. I met him in my teens and he been my roll dog ever since. I spoke with him 30 minutes before is death. I was one of the last persons he spoke with I wish I was there I would’ve took those bullets.”
As previously reported, Nipsey Hussle, real name Ermias Asghedom, was fatally shot outside of his Los Angeles clothing store in March 2019. He left behind Emani, and his son Kross who he shared with his longtime partner, actress Lauren London.
Prior to his passing, Nipsey and his ex-girlfriend Foster were reportedly battling for custody of their daughter. According to RadarOnline, after the rapper died, his family went to court demanding guardianship over Emani.
Initially Foster refused to give custody to Nipsey’s brother Sam, sister Samantha, and mother Angelique. However, she eventually agreed to the arrangement. Things looked fine until last year when Foster filed court documents, demanding she be awarded custody and the guardianship be dissolved.
According to Nipsey’s family, Foster is an unfit parent who admitted to having an alcohol and substance abuse addiction.
However, Foster is claiming she changed her mind after her ex’s family began to use their “financial position and influence to disregard their priorities by controlling the desires of Emani and Tanisha by withholding financial assistance and reducing visitation.”
Nipsey’s family and Foster are headed to trial in April.
