Amanda Bynes Reportedly Hospitalized On Psychiatric Hold After Roaming Los Angeles Streets Naked

Amanda Bynes has reportedly been placed on a psychiatric hold after she was found roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked and alone.

According to reports, an eyewitness says that the former “Amanda Show” star was seen walking near downtown Los Angeles early Sunday morning (Mar. 19) without any clothes. Amanda Bynes, who has bipolar disorder, allegedly waved a car down and told the driver she was coming down from a psychotic episode.

Amanda Bynes, 36, then called 911 on herself and was taken to a nearby police station, where a mental health professional reportedly determined she needed to be placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold.

Reports state that the retired actress is currently hospitalized and will likely remain in the facility’s care for several days. Typically, a 5150 hold reportedly lasts 72 hours, but it can be extended based on a patient’s need.

The most recent incident comes almost one year to the day when Amanda’s 9-year conservatorship was officially terminated.

As previously reported, on March 22, 2022, a judge reportedly granted Amanda’s request to end her conservatorship, releasing the former child star from the arrangement that has controlled various aspects of her life for the past nine years.

Amanda Bynes’ mother, Lynn Bynes, had been her conservator over the years and appeared to support her daughter’s decision to end the arrangement. The troubled star was put into the conservatorship in 2013 after she was hospitalized following a string of public outbursts, including setting fire to a driveway and tweeting bizarre messages to celebrities such as Drake and Rihanna.

After the judge ultimately decided the legal arrangement was “no longer required,” Amanda spoke out at the time and said,

“Following today’s decision by the judge to terminate my conservatorship, I would like to thank my fans for their love and well wishes during this time. I would also like to thank my lawyer and my parents for their support over the last nine years.”
