‘Love & Hip Hop’ Alum Mendeecees Harris Speaks On His Drug Dealing Past & Shares He Once Put His Mother Up For Collateral: ‘I Can’t Believe I’m Still Here’
Mendeecees has made decisions during his drug dealing days that he’s not too fond of.
During a recent sit down with Shannon Sharpe on the former NFL player’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, Mendeecees Harris chatted about a time he once saw no other future for himself besides drug dealing in the streets of Harlem. If you’re a “Love & Hip Hop” fan, you may recall that Mendeecees was sentenced to eight years in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to distribute cocaine and heroin. However, according to reports, the New York native only served half of his sentence before he was released from behind bars.

While revealing one of his lowest drug dealing points to Shannon Sharpe, Mendeecees Harris shared:
“This gon’ sound horrible but I put my mom up for collateral.”
Mendeecees continued and explained that giving up his mother’s location wasn’t optional.
“I was getting a bunch of keys, and they was like, ‘Well, you gotta show me where your mom live at, because if you run off on this, we can’t afford for you to run off. I had no intention of running off,”
Mendeecees — who compared his past life to a “Snowfall” episode — recalled:
“I ain’t have no intentions on running off so I was like ‘aight, I’ll show you.’ and I took ‘em.”
After admitting his mother had “no idea” about the collateral he offered up, Mendeecees said,
“I think at that point I had good in my heart to do good business, so I didn’t think that far.”
Shocked that he’s still alive today, he shared:
“I never even told nobody that so when I look back at the decision I made, now I be like, ‘I can’t believe I’m still here.’”
According to the former real estate entrepreneur, once he became a father he knew it was time to turn his life around. Mendeecees has been in a long-term relationship with manager-turned-reality-TV star Yandy Smith for years. The couple shares Omere Harris, 10, and Skylar Smith Harris, 8, together. In addition, while on the VH1 reality series, viewers watched as Yandy took in a foster child, Infinity Gilyard.
Prior to his relationship with Yandy, Mendeecees welcomed Mendeecees Harris Jr, 17, with ex-girlfriend Samantha Wallace, and Aasim Harris, 11 with ex-girlfriend Erika DeShazo.
