Jamie Foxx & Daughter Corinne Announced As Hosts Of New Musical Game Show Amid The Actor Recovering From Recent Health Scare
Jamie Foxx is healing… and working!
According to reports, legendary actor/comedian Jamie Foxx and his daughter, Corinne, will emcee an all-new competition series for FOX, titled ‘We Are Family.’

The anticipated reveal comes just days after Corinne teased an “exciting work announcement” on her Instagram Story as she cleared the air about Jamie Foxx’s current health status.
Since the notion that Foxx had fallen ill in April of this year (due to an undisclosed medical complication), many conflicting reports have made their way around the internet.
Last week, rumors swirled that the ‘In Living Color’ icon’s loved ones were “preparing for the worst,” with previous speculation that Foxx had undergone a stroke. Following the allegation, journalist Touré reposted a statement about the 55-year-old possibly being put on life support and claimed that he’d (seemingly) gotten confirmation of it from multiple sources.
Of course, it didn’t take long for the information to make its rounds. However, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, set the record straight by letting the public know that her father had actually been home from the hospital for weeks now.
She wrote,
“Update from the family: Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support! We have an exciting work announcement coming next week too!”

Scheduled for the network’s 2023-2024 lineup, ‘We Are Family’ is a musical game show that sees some of today’s top-notch celebrities and their family members deliver duet performances to the audience. What’s the catch? Each A-lister will be hidden from the crowd of contestants, and participants must guess the identities of the famed personalities in order to take home a grand cash prize.
No official date has been set for the forthcoming (unscripted) production as of yet, but (along with hosting the episodic project) Foxx is also said to be executive producing ‘We Are Family,‘ with Apploff Entertainment and Fox Alternative Entertainment. Matilda Zoltowski is set to serve as the showrunner.
When speaking of the news, Foxx and Corinne jointly said in a press release,
“We are thrilled to be developing ‘We Are Family’ with Jeff Apploff and our friends at FOX Entertainment after so much success with six seasons of ‘Beat Shazam.’ We hope this show brings as much fun to the audiences at home as we’ve had creating it when it premieres next year.”

As you may know, this isn’t the first time the daddy-daughter duo has hit our TV screens. The two were seen together on another one of FOX’s game shows, an interactive series called ‘Beat Shazam,‘ which began airing in 2017.
Recently, the network unveiled that fellow comic Nick Cannon would now be stepping in for Foxx, with Kelly Osbourne taking on the role of Corinne’s replacement.

However, it’s great to see that the grind still isn’t stopping for the Foxx crew and they’ll be making a comeback soon!
