Update: Jamie Foxx Still Recovering From Undisclosed ‘Medical Complication’ At Chicago Rehab Facility

Update #3: (May 22, 2023): Jamie Foxx’s loved ones are surrounding him as he continues to recover from an undisclosed “medical complication.”

According to TMZ, over the weekend, friends and family of the famed actor visited him at the Chicago-based physical medicine and rehabilitation center he’s receiving treatment. Paparazzi captured images of Jamie Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, his close friend, Dave Brown, and others leaving the facility. Reportedly, they looked serious upon their exit.

At this time, no other updates have been provided and it’s still unclear why exactly Jamie was hospitalized.  However, as we previously reported, the facility providing Jamie with treatment specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.

Update #2: (May 16, 2023): Jamie Foxx’s healing journey continues.

As previously reported, Jamie Foxx was hospitalized in Atlanta last month for an undisclosed medical reason. New reports claim the actor is doing better but he’s now receiving medical treatment at the top physical medicine and rehabilitation center located in Chicago.

As of now, it’s still unclear why Jamie was initially taken to the hospital or what exactly he’s been dealing with. But, it’s been reported that his new medical facility specializes in stroke recovery, traumatic brain injury rehab, spinal cord injury rehab and cancer rehabilitation.

Insiders shared with TMZ that Jamie arrived at the Chicago-based facility in late April and he’s “recovering well.” Over the weekend paparazzi captured Jamie’s family in Chicago, seemingly in the windy city to check in on the “Collateral” star.

Update #1: (May 13, 2023): Jamie Foxx’s daughter has a positive update about her dad’s condition.

Original Story: Fans are concerned following the latest social media post surrounding Jamie Foxx.

Journalist and TV personality Touré recently took to social media to share an update on Jamie Foxx‘s current state following his unexpected medical emergency last month.

Touré wrote,

“Jamie Foxx is on life support in ICU at this hour…family is preparing for the worst.. wow.”

He then captioned the post,

“I have heard from multiple sources that the legend Jamie Foxx is in serious medical trouble. Incredibly sad situation.”

Naturally, fans grew concerned after receiving this latest update. Many felt it was irresponsible for Touré to share this news without the family’s permission.

One user wrote,

“Regardless of whatever condition Jamie is in, it’s disrespectful to him and the family to put out unconfirmed information. People just don’t have a heart or common sense!”

Another said,

“So in a quest to be the first to report it Touré had decided to disregard the wishes of his family. I just can’t.”

Someone else wrote,

This news comes days after we exclusively reported that insiders close to Jamie Foxx alleged that a top-ranked neurologist was flown to Atlanta by Jamie’s team to help him through his recovery process. As previously reported, Jamie Foxx has been hospitalized for almost a month after he suffered a medical emergency.

His daughter, Corinne Foxx initially announced the unfortunate news on Instagram, leaving out specific details about what happened to the “Day Shift” actor. Corinne Foxx, 29, wrote:

“From the Foxx Family: We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery.”

“We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.

Foxx has remained mostly quiet during his medical scare. However, the movie star did take to his social media to thank all those sharing well wishes. Celebrities and fans alike have all come forward, expressing their prayers for a speedy recovery. In response, the actor wrote:

“Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed”
