Wendy Williams’ Rep Denies Recent Reports That She’s Been Hospitalized

Wendy Williams is not in the hospital despite reports claiming that she checked into a medical facility.

Wendy Williams’ rep, Shawn Zanotti, has shut down reports that the former TV host has been hospitalized. The claims surfaced after a source told a publication that Wendy Williams, 58, was admitted to a medical facility in New York twice in the past two weeks.

Shawn Zanotti said,

“I can confirm that Wendy is not in the hospital, as reported. I can also confirm she is not in New York, as reported.”

Wendy’s exact whereabouts are unclear at the moment.

As you may recall, “The Wendy Williams Show” came to a controversial end last year, following 12 seasons on the air, reportedly due to Wendy’s ongoing health issues. Sherri Shepherd, who filled in as a guest host several times during the series’ final season, ultimately replaced Wendy’s coveted slot with her own self-titled talk series.

However, despite her rumored health issues, we may be seeing the media personality back on our TV screens in the near future. As previously reported, Wendy has been spotted filming for an upcoming project. Shawn Zanotti confirmed that while it is not a reality show, she is indeed filming.

Her publicist said,

“After taking a long break, Wendy feels some of the best days of her life were in media. She has been in media since her early 20’s and wants to return to what she loves…Yes, Wendy is filming…Yes, she is gearing up for something and the specifics of that can’t be disclosed as of yet.”

Back in February, Wendy reportedly brought a grand production crew to film in a New York eatery, sparking rumors of a possible reality TV special. One witness described the scene, stating,

“Basically it was a regular night…and then all of the sudden the Wendy Williams train arrived…She had a huge crew that basically turned Fresco by Scotto into a movie set.”
