 Robert De Niro ‘Deeply Distressed’ After 19-Year-Old Grandson Was Found Dead In NYC Apartment Due To Suspected Overdose [CONDOLENCES]

Hollywood icon Robert De Niro’s grandson has died.

According to reports, on Sunday (Jul. 2), authorities discovered 19-year-old Leandro De Niro Rodriguez’s body in an apartment in New York City.

While Leandro De Niro Rodriguez’s exact cause of death is unknown, limited details tell us that a friend found the teen deceased in a chair after he’d been housesitting the residence.

Additionally, investigators are said to be looking into it as a possible overdose, as substances were allegedly pulled from the vicinity by officials.

Following the tragic occurrence, Leandro De Niro Rodriguez’s mother, actress Drena De Niro, shared the heartbreaking news via Instagram. She wrote:

“My beautiful sweet angel. I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy my heart and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now.”

The grieving parent (who is the daughter of Robert De Niro) continued,

“I don’t know how to live without you but I’ll try to go on and spread the love and light that you so made me feel in getting to be your mama.”

Rodriguez, an actor himself, is also the son of successful artist Carlos Rodriguez. When speaking on the rising trouper’s passing, he said in a comment:

“Words aren’t enough to express the joy he gave us or the loss we now endure with our families and friends. He is Godschild now.”

Legend Robert De Niro announced in a statement regarding his grandson’s demise,

“[I am] deeply distressed by the passing of my beloved grandson Leo. We’re greatly appreciative of the condolences from everyone. We ask that we please be given the privacy to grieve our loss of Leo.”
