As you may know, Larry Nassar is currently serving a life-long sentence in a Florida penitentiary on a number of sexual misconduct-related charges. Allegedly, the 59-year-old is responsible for assaulting over 200 girls/women while offering them medical treatment, which was first publicized around 2016 in one of many lawsuits.
Nassar confessed to abusing an array of athletes throughout his career at USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University, including Olympic medal winners Simone Biles and Gabby Douglas, among others. Separate crimes revealed that the controversial felon also had child pornography and molestation allegations against him that stem from the 1990s/early 2000s.

On Sunday (Jul. 9), news broke that inmate Nassar had been stabbed a total of 10 times in the neck, chest, and back and suffered a collapsed lung in the process.
When speaking of the attack, U.S. Penitentiary Coleman’s staff rep, Joe Rojas, told an outlet,
“[Nassar] has a collapsed lung. He is lucky to be alive and the only reason he is alive, in my opinion, is because of the staff members who were there.”
Apparently, Nassar was targeted by a fellow prisoner. However, at this time, the cause of the attack is unknown, and further details surrounding the incident have yet to be disclosed.
Rojas claimed that Nassar mainly stays to himself and out of the way of the facility’s population, alluding that he was initially shocked by the occurrence because of the jailer’s introverted ways.
Nassar was reportedly transported to a local hospital due to needing “life-saving efforts.” No other individuals were harmed.

Speaking of her stance on the situation, Antoinette Frazho, an attorney for Nassar’s accusers, expressed:
“My clients do not wish harm on anyone, but Nassar placed himself in that position by abusing and assaulting young girls for over 30 years.”
Nassar is in stable condition.
