Beyoncé Donates $100,000 In Scholarship Funding To Detroit Technology College
Beyoncé has blessed several Detroit college students in a major way!
Beyoncé previously revealed she had plans to to donate $1 million in scholarships to various colleges along her Renaissance tour route and it looks like Queen Bey has kept her promise.
On Tuesday (July 25), just one day ahead of her concert at Ford Field Stadium in Detroit, the entertainers BeyGood foundation gave $100,000 in scholarship funding for 10 lucky students at the Detroit School for Digital Technology as part of her Renaissance Scholars program.
A rep for Beyoncé told sources:
“We were delighted to spend the morning with the Detroit School for Digital Technology, and announce that @dsdttech will receive $100K in Renaissance scholarship funds to support students with financial need.”
The southwest Detroit school–which offers programs in digital marketing and business technology– opened up in 2017 and even received a visit from Joe Biden.
The DSDT scholarship isn’t the first time Beyoncé has given back to the state of Michigan: In 2016, she donated $82,000 for water relief efforts in Flint, which included money contributed by fans during her Formation World Tour.
The “Cuff it” singer also has plans to donate $1 million to 1,000 small business grants throughout her Renaissance tour. The day before Beyoncé’s scheduled concert in a city, BeyGOOD will host luncheons for entrepreneurs who have the chance to win a grant.

Beyoncé founded BeyGood in 2013 during her Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. Since then, they have donated to educational efforts, disaster relief, food, water and housing security, mental health resources and career development in the US and abroad.
The entertainer said in a statement:
“I am hugely proud of the work we have done over a decade at BeyGOOD, here in the US and around the world. From scholarships to the water crisis in Burundi, to helping families during Hurricane Harvey in my hometown, Houston, it has been beyond fulfilling to be of service.”
She continued,
“Now, as a foundation, we will continue the work of engaging partners through innovative programs to impact even more people.”
