Jamie Foxx Says He’s Finally Starting To Feel Like Himself Following Scary Medical Complication: ‘It’s Been An Unexpected Dark Journey But I Can See The Light’

Jamie Foxx is continuing to take it one day at a time.

As you may already know, earlier this year, actor/comedian Jamie Foxx underwent an undisclosed health issue that left him hospitalized for an extended period of time.

However, it seems that Jamie Foxx is not letting the bad outweigh the good, and he’s getting back to himself. The illustrious singer took to his Instagram to give fans another update on his wellness journey.

In a caption under a photo of himself, he wrote,

“You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself… it’s been an unexpected dark journey but I can see the light… I’m thankful to everyone that reached out and sent well wishes and prayers… I have a lot of people to thank… u just don’t know how much it meant.”

He added:

“I will be thanking all of you personally… and if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day.”

Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, initially made the troubling announcement about her father’s crisis via Instagram, where she expressed the family’s desire for privacy amid the tough time.

In April, she said in a statement:

“We wanted to share that, my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday. Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time.”

Subsequent to the concerning reveal, many theories came to the forefront about the “Fall For Your Type” crooner’s well-being, with rumors from “supposed” sources claiming that his loved ones were “preparing for the worst.”

However, Corinne followed up with a response to the speculation and said,

“Sad to see how the media runs wild. My dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

While it’s still unclear what (exactly) happened to Foxx, there’s been talk that it was neurologically related, and at some point… he was (allegedly) in a Chicago rehab center.

Recently, reports swirled that the 55-year-old returned to the facility to throw a party in celebration of his recovery process.

Last month, Foxx posted a video to his supporters and explained his need to maintain a level of secrecy while enduring the emergency.

He relayed,

“I just didn’t want you to see me like that. I want you to see me laughing, having a good time, partying, cracking a joke, doing a movie, a television show. I just didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

From the looks of it, Foxx is certainly in a better place… mentally and physically. Just a few days ago, it was said that — aside from getting back to work — he and his ex, Katie Holmes, have also reconnected.
