Michelle Obama Reportedly Earns Over $700,000 For One-Hour Speaking Engagement
If you want to book Michelle Obama for a speaking engagement it’s going to cost you a pretty penny!
According to reports, Michelle Obama recently earned a whopping $741,000 for a one-hour speech on diversity and inclusion and how to push past self-doubt. The Chicago native addressed attendees at the recent Bits and Pretzels festival in Munich, Germany — where she earned the jaw-dropping amount.
The annual event invites investors and industry leaders for a three-day conference filled with learning and networking. Michelle and over 500 other guest speakers appeared on the panels to impart wisdom and insight to those lucky enough to secure a ticket. Reportedly, the 5,000 people accepted to the conference were also required to complete an extensive application prior to the event. Hopefuls whose applications were rejected reportedly received a full ticket refund.
Former President Barack Obama was a guest speaker at the event in 2019, where he shared his experiences and thoughts on politics and social issues. His fee for that appearance remains unknown.
Reportedly, a source spoke on how the business festival was able to book Michelle and said,
“They really pulled out all the stops to get her,”
They added,
“It’s one of the highest fees that they have ever paid.”
