Usher’s Music Catalog Sees Huge Streaming Spike Following Super Bowl Halftime Announcement
Looks like fans are brushing up on Usher’s catalog.
Reportedly, several streaming platforms have noted that the singer’s discography has seen a significant boost since it was revealed he will be headlining the Super Bowl Halftime show next year.
In totality, Usher‘s music has reportedly spiked around 16% since the NFL and Roc Nation tapped the singer to take the coveted sports performance stage this coming February. His newest record “Good Good” was reportedly streamed 1.1 million times between Sunday and Monday following the news. Additionally, some of his older hits such as “Yeah!,” featuring Ludacris and Lil Jon, “My Boo” featuring Alicia Keys, and “DJ Got Us Fallin in Love” featuring Pitbull have added to the streaming soar. Respectively, the records have reportedly received 962,000, 527,000, and 525,000 streams since Sunday as well.
In particular, it seems fans have really been combing through the singer’s older music. Amazon reported that the musician’s 2004 single “Yeah!” shot up 149 spots among their most popular songs list, receiving a 140% streaming boost the day after the announcement. Tidal, the streaming platform launched and owned by Roc Nation founder Jay Z, reported that Usher’s most listened-to tune the day of the Super Bowl announcement was another 2004 single titled “Superstar.”
Only time will tell how Usher’s show will stand in comparison, fans are clearly anticipating an incredible experience!
