While Destiny Payton Williams didn’t directly speak on the nature of her arrest, it seems the public got wind of the situation after she was featured on the Huntsville area Crime Stoppers website. In their news segment, the organization reported that the entrepreneur is accused of forging her ex-husband’s name on a utility contract without his knowledge. No other details about the situation have been shared at this time.
While nothing has been confirmed, it’s speculated that Destiny may have had the utility bill taken out for her business Madonni Beauty. Some reports claim she once had a brick-and-mortar location for the company, which is allegedly no longer open, suggesting she may have negatively impacted her ex-husband La’Berrick “LB” Williams’ credit with the missed bill.
After the story began making headlines, fans of the show reportedly headed to Destiny’s social media page to react to the news. Some attempted to make her aware of the situation, leaving the Crime Stoppers number for her to contact authorities. Others condemned La’Berrick for filing charges against her in the first place. A few defended him, however, arguing Destiny had no right to mess with his credit.
Whatever the truth, it’s clear the two are likely no longer on good terms with each other. The ex-pair reportedly wed back in 2019 after 5 years of dating. Destiny revealed to fellow cast member Melody Holt that her divorce had been finalized, however, during a 2021 episode of the show.
Throughout their time on the series, Destiny reportedly expressed several times that she felt she was putting in more work than La’Berrick. Specifically, as she discussed with Melody, she was frustrated by her then-husband not doing more to take care of their son Law. However, La’Berrick seems to have taken credit for initiating the divorce. Revealing they decided to call it quits, he reportedly wrote in an Instagram post:
“After much thought and prayer, I made the decision to file for divorce from my ex-wife. I personally ask for privacy as we live our separate lives, and navigate though this journey called life.”
It does not appear La’Berrick has made any comments about the legal dispute at this time.
