‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Slated To Return In 2025, Public Reacts: ‘They Can Keep It’
Euphoria is coming… two years from now.
While not much is known regarding the plot for the forthcoming season, HBO boss Casey Bloys shared news of its return at a press event on Thursday (Nov. 2) with a reel titled “Coming in 2025.”
Euphoria creator Sam Levinson hinted in August that he saw the upcoming episodes as a “film noir.” He shared that he would “explore what it means to be an individual with principles in a corrupt world” via the perspective of the show’s main protagonist, Rue, played by Zendaya.
The hit series also stars Hunter Schafer, Sydney Sweeney, Storm Reid, Jacob Elordi, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, and Dominic Fike as they navigate high school in a world of drugs, love, and crime.

Angus Cloud, who died from an accidental drug overdose in July, also starred in the series as Fezco. According to the coroner’s report, fentanyl, benzodiazepines, methamphetamine, and cocaine were found in Angus Cloud‘s system.
As previously reported, Sam Levinson shared that he tried to help the actor get clean on several occasions before his untimely death.
Sam Levinson recalled,
“I looked him in the eye and I knew that he wasn’t doing well. At the same time I’ve been in these situations before where you’re trying to get someone clean. And I just said to him, ‘I love working with you and we’ve got this amazing season planned and stuff, but I need you to be sober because I got to be able to rely on you.’”
While some people are excited for the series to return — even if it is years from now — others seem to have grown impatient with the wait. One X user said,
“Just don’t bother @euphoriaHBO / One of the best characters is gone. And this wait cannot be justified. It ended just fine at the end of S2 for Rue. I’m sure we’d get some throw away line about Fez anyway.”

Another user added,
“And we are still in 2023…which means we still have 14 full months to go and the show might not premiere in January of 2025 yup, they can keep it.”

According to another X user, the network should simply,
“keep this in the drafts.”

Costume designer Heidi Bivens previously shared that season 3 of the hit HBO series was “in talks” to jump five years from where the last episode ended, with the main characters out of high school.
Bivens allegedly revealed the information while discussing her desire to expand her role on the program as it develops. She said,
“My hope is that I will be able to take a bigger creative role within the Euphoria family, actually. There was talk of me shadowing Sam in the second season, as I’m extremely interested in directing and working with actors in that capacity, and I’ve started to do more of that [on other projects].”
She added,
“Euphoria is my family, and I’ll do everything I can to make the third season of the show successful. I’m really excited to read the scripts. There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore. Dorothy’s not in Kansas anymore.

Season 2 of The Last of Us, The White Lotus’ season 3 and the It prequel series Welcome to Derry will also premiere in 2025.
