Update: ‘RHONY’ Alum Ramona Singer Reportedly Fired From Real Estate Job Over Claims She Used The N-Word
Update: (Nov. 02, 2023): Ramona Singer is starting to face repercussions for her (alleged) racist remarks.
Reportedly, the “Real Housewives of New York City” alum was fired from her real estate job over claims she used the N-word. As previously reported, a complaint was filed against Ramona for allegedly saying the racial slur to a Black crew member while filming season 13 of the Bravo reality series.
An internal investigation on the matter was reportedly determined as “inconclusive” and Ramona has since denied using the slur while filming.
However, it’s been reported that while trying to defend herself she recently used the n-word in text messages, allegedly writing,
“The word I used was ‘NWord’ Not n-g…”
Unfortunately for Ramona, the allegations against her don’t stop at using a slur. She’s accused of claiming that most Black children don’t have fathers, as well. Ramona’s employer must have heard about the serious allegations she’s facing, because on Tuesday (Oct. 31) the real estate company –Douglas Elliman — reportedly decided to cut ties with the TV star. In addition, she’s also been removed from the lineup for BravoCon, which is set to take place in Las Vegas this weekend.
Original Story: (Oct. 31, 2023): Ramona Singer’s alleged racist comments have landed her in the hot seat once again.
According to reports, TV personality Ramona Singer is being accused of stating a racial slur to a Black crew member while filming season 13 of “The Real Housewives of New York City.” Allegedly, the 66-year-old used the N-word while speaking with the production member, which resulted in a complaint within Shed Media, Warner Bros. Discovery, Bravo and NBCUniversal.
However, Ramona Singer has since denied using the term while on set for the reality series. An internal investigation was reportedly conducted and determined as “inconclusive.”
Back in 2021, the “Housewives” cast was instructed to participate in a “virtual education session” that discussed the topic of race and what can and can not be said. The call also included Singer’s former co-star Eboni K. Williams — who is “RHONY’s” first Black full-time cast member.
According to Eboni K. Williams, the “RHONY” alum allegedly said that “most” Black people don’t have present fathers. The 40-year-old recalled Singer asking why she shouldn’t speak on the notion that Black fathers aren’t in their children’s lives.
Singer allegedly said,
“What if they don’t have a father? Why can’t I say that? Most of them don’t.”
Bravo’s publicist, who is also Black and was present on the call, told Singer that she has a father. As a response, Singer said she read a study about single-parent households that confirmed that most Black children do not have a present father.
As you may recall, the 13th season reunion for “RHONY” was previously said to be canceled due to Bravo’s investigation into a complaint that Eboni K. Williams filed against Singer for an alleged racist remark. As previously reported, Singer allegedly exclaimed “This is why we shouldn’t have Black people on the show,” after former co-star Luann de Lesseps told Williams to leave her home during a heated exchange about race.
As of recently, Williams is seemingly gaining her power back after speaking publicly for the first time about the “Anti-Blackness, N-word use and racial hostility” she experienced during her season on the show. In a post shared today (Oct. 30) to her Instagram, Williams wrote,
“‘If you’re silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it’
