Actress Dominique Perry, Who Shares A Child w/ “Insecure” Actor Sarunas Jackson, Issues A Statement Defending Abuse Victims After Receiving Criticism For A Meme She Posted Amid Keke Palmer’s Domestic Violence Claims Against Darius Jackson

Actress Dominque Perry has seemingly chimed into the abuse conversation surrounding Keke Palmer and her ex Darius Jackson.

The entertainer, who has a child with Darius‘ older brother Insecure actor Sarunas Jackson, made clear that she would never taunt a domestic violence claim despite how critics interpreted one of her recent posts.

In an instagram upload explaining her post, Dominique Perry wrote:

“There was a repost of a post I made on yesterday. (There’s situations where you laugh to keep from crying.) Let me give clarity. I would never laugh at ANYONE that is subject to domestic abuse female or male….Women have been manipulated, abused, lied on for centuries, and put their head down for the fear of not being believed. We need to stop being afraid.”

She added:

“I may not be at the highest platform in my career just yet to be heard and/or supported by the public, but whenever that time comes, everyone will listen. God is in control of my steps and I’ll respond accordingly. I will be vindicated in his timing. Pray for the abusers the protected babies will always be fine.”

Perry’s post comes as a response to some who seemingly misunderstood a meme she uploaded of Michal Jackson in the music video “Thriller”, where he’s laughing while watching a movie screen and eating popcorn. Reportedly, the “Insure” star posted the meme around the same time her child’s father Sarunas Jackson seemingly referred to his brother’s ex girlfriend Keke Palmer as a “disgusting, vile, manipulative” person. As we previously covered, Sarunas made the comment shortly after it was revealed the “Nope” star had filed a restraining order against her ex and child’s father Darius Jackson.

While it seems some social media users may have misinterpreted Perry’s intentions with the post, others came to her defense. Many claimed they automatically assumed she was showing support for Palmer, as it’s been speculated that she suffered some sort of abuse while dating Sarunas in the past, though that hasn’t been confirmed. The pair never went public with their relationship. Fans only put together that were at some point an item when they simultaneously revealed they welcomed a daughter named Zen together back in 2018. However, some fans seem to recall rumors about Sarunas‘ alleged abusive nature, calling out the way he used to speak about Perry.
