Charlamagne Tha God & DJ Envy Allude Jess Hilarious Has Not Been Confirmed As Permanent Co-Host On ‘The Breakfast Club,’ Despite Comedian Previously Claiming Otherwise

There seems to be some confusion regarding the new permanent co-host of the iconic radio show “The Breakfast Club.”

During a recent segment on the show, longtime hosts Charlamagne Tha God and DJ Envy expressed their frustrations at not yet being able to secure a permanent third member since Angela Yee’s departure. Though many were under the impression that a decision had already been made about the matter.

While on air, Charlamagne Tha God stated:

“You know what I’m so confused by, we spent all last year rotating guest co-hosts, and I thought we was rotating guest co-hosts before we let God decided who was supposed to be here. Now it’s 2024, what happened?”

He continued, noting he believed it would take “at least a year” to find someone to permanently fill in for Angela Yee because she’s “irreplaceable.”

Charlamagne added,

“Do we just say eff it, it’s not gone be another co-host…I don’t know what the hell is happening, if anything happening at all…it ain’t no motion.”

DJ Envy chimed in as well, revealing that he only expected the co-host rotation to last a few months before they would decide on a new addition. He also jokingly protested the notion of him permanently hosting the rumor report, which was once Angela Yee’s segment.

In case you’re unaware, the staple radio show has been on the air since 2010 and was originally started by Charlamagne, Envy, and Yee. However, things shifted in 2022 after Yee decided to part ways with the series to pursue her own show, “Way Up with Angela Yee.”

Following her departure, “The Breakfast Club” saw many temporary fill-ins such as reality star Claudia Jordan, comedic actress Luenell, and “Wild N Out” comic Jess Hilarious. However, it appeared that Jess ultimately secured the spot as a permanent co-host. As we reported just a few weeks ago, the 31-year-old shared the exciting news during an event she was attending and received tons of applause from the crowd. She stated in her announcement:

“It’s official…I’m a put the f**k on for my city. Specifically, West Baltimore.”

However, it seems that somewhere down the line of communication something was lost in translation. Charlamagne’s remarks could suggest that for some reason, Jess was offered the position but has not finalized an acceptance. Alternatively, he could be suggesting that an issue is happening on behalf of the show’s producers. Neither Charlamagne, Envy, nor Jess has reacted any further to the situation publicly at this time.
