Sherri Shepherd Says She Gave Kelly Rowland A ‘Gorgeous’ Dressing Room After Singer Walked Off ‘Today’ Show
Kelly Rowland was treated like the star she is on the ‘Sherri’ daytime talk show.
Sherri Shepherd shared a clip of an interview with the former Destiny’s Child member on Instagram on Monday (Feb. 19).
In the comments, one fan speculated that Kelly Rowland’s appearance on the show must have meant her dressing room was up to par.
The Instagram user commented,
“I guess her dressing room was acceptable.”
Sherri Shepherd responded,
“oh we gave her a gorgeous room! It is Kelandria Rowland.”
During her appearance on the show, Rowland also gave Sherri Shepherd credit for “being a safe space.”
She said,
“I have to tell you. Thank you for being light, positive energy in this space. In this time. We needed you, and I thank you so much for your light.”
The interactions come after Kelly Rowland walked out on the “Today” show. If you’re unfamiliar with the situation, Rowland was supposed to appear on the show to talk about her role in Tyler Perry’s ‘Mea Culpa.’ She was also scheduled to fill in as a guest host with Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager.
However, according to multiple reports, Rowland decided to leave because she and her team were not happy with the dressing room conditions. Sources close to the matter claim the entertainer was unhappy with her room, so her team requested a bigger one. They were then reportedly told it was already occupied by Jennifer Lopez, who was also there promoting her new album and film.
British singer Rita Ora stepped in to fill the void after Rowland’s sudden departure.
After Bethenny Frankel, former star of ‘Real Housewives of New York,’ heard about the incident, she made a post on her TikTok account stating that Rowland should’ve just been “honored” for the opportunity and compared her experience on the ‘Today’ show Rowland’s. The TikTok video on Bethenny Frankel’s account has since been deleted following backlash.
‘Mea Culpa,’ starring Rowland, is an upcoming thriller movie written and directed by Tyler Perry. The film stars Rowland as a criminal defense attorney who takes the case of an artist accused of murdering his girlfriend. The movie premieres on Netflix on Feb. 23.
