‘RHOP’ Star Ashley Darby Dating Mystery Man As She’s ‘Slowing Wading Through’ Divorce: ‘We’re Having Fun’

Ashley Darby isn’t legally single but she’s still ready to mingle!

While recently chatting with PEOPLE, “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star gave an update on her ongoing divorce from businessman Michael Darby and also revealed she’s got a new man keeping her attention. As previously reported, in April 2022 the mother of two shared that after eight years of marriage, she and Michael Darby decided to separate. If you’ve been keeping up with Ashley Darby’s life on the popular Bravo series, you are aware she’s still legally married to her ex, but they are co-parenting and living separate lives. Many of Ashley Darby’s co-stars and her uncle have urged her to take the steps needed to finalize the divorce, but she’s made it very clear that she will pull the trigger when she’s ready, and not a second sooner.

Giving an update on where the divorce currently stands, she shared during her talk with the publication,

“We’re slowly wading through. We’re not in the mud, there are some movements.”

She continued,

“I’m not feeling as pressured, but what my uncle said to me the other day was, emotionally, I’m never going to be free if I don’t do this. And maybe that’s true. So I’ll get there.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Ashley, 35, opened up about her dating life as an almost divorced woman, hinting that there’s someone special in her life. She said,

“I have a friend. We’ve only been talking for about four months.”

She continued,

“I’m still learning what dating means in this world. There’s a lot of terminology that I’m trying to get the feel for. But we’re having fun.”

Ashley didn’t name her “friend” but she revealed that they’ve known each other well over a decade, first meeting before Michael Darby, 64, came into her life. She added,

“I was at a Friendsgiving party and the party was about to end, and he walked through the door and I was like, ‘Holy…’ — one of those moments. So yeah, he asked me out. We went out the next day for dinner.”

She also noted the mystery man is 49 years old. This is the second relationship Ashley has publicly shared since things with her estranged husband ended. She was previously in a brief relationship with “Summer House” alum Luke Gulbranson, 40. They reportedly broke up in January.
