Teyana Taylor Accuses Iman Shumpert Of Diminishing Marital Estate By Almost $4 Million & Failing To Pay Taxes On Their Miami Property
Things are getting more intense between former love birds Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert.
The pair married in 2016 and, after seven years of marriage, Teyana Taylor quietly filed for divorce last January. Despite her best attempts to keep the matter private, her soon-to-be-ex was seemingly against the divorce proceedings staying under wraps. A judge ultimately denied the “A Thousand and One” star’s plea to seal the records. Since then, the public has watched the exes battle it out in court, and new allegations surrounding the retired NBA player have recently been revealed.

According to court documents obtained by another publication, Teyana Taylor has accused Iman Shumpert, both 33, of diminishing their marital estate by almost $4 million. She also claimed he failed to pay the taxes on their marital property in Miami, Florida.
Taylor filed for divorce in Georgia, as that’s the location of their primary residence. The southern state automatically issues divorcing couples a domestic standing order. According to a law website, this is “designed to protect both parties from conduct such as a spouse disposing of marital assets while the divorce is in process.”

However, it’s alleged that Iman Shumpert violated this order by taking several loans from their marital accounts. Taylor’s legal team purportedly noticed something was off on March 7, 2024, when Shumpert submitted current statements for certain investment accounts. It’s said her counsel was alarmed by a major decrease in some of the values compared to the figures on the October 2023 statements.
A financial analyst was brought in to investigate to ensure their suspicions were right as market forces could have caused the decrease.
However, amid the investigation, it was allegedly discovered that Shumpert took a loan of $44,000 on December 7, 2023, from a marital Merrill Lynch account, and a second loan of $886,285 was also reportedly taken from another marital Merrill Lynch.

It’s also reported the financial analyst found that Shumpert made withdrawals of $878,760 from a marital Park Avenue throughout 2023. It’s alleged that the same year he claimed loans of $1,883,899 against a second-marital Park Avenue account and another loan of $105,000 from the Mass Mutual Life insurance policy.
In total, the withdrawals allegedly diminished the duo’s marital estate by $3,797,944.

Reportedly, Taylor wants her ex fined $1,000 for each contempt of the court’s automatic domestic standing order. In addition, Taylor has demanded Shumpert pay her attorney fees and all litigation costs incurred by her recent motion. She also requested the court to award her further relief as it deems necessary.
