Iman Shumpert Denies Claims He Had Utilities Cut Off At Family Home Teyana Taylor Lives In With Their Children Amid Divorce Battle

The divorce drama between Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert continues.

Earlier this year Teyana Taylor claimed that her soon-to-be ex-husband Iman Shumpert had the WiFi, cable, and water cut off at the Georgia home they previously shared. Allegedly, after Iman Shumpert left the residence last October, his brother – who purportedly handles his personal affairs – informed Teyana Taylor that he had plans to cut the utilities off in the home. Despite being warned by her legal team that doing so would violate a court order, Iman Shumpert allegedly moved forward with having the services cut.

Her motion detailed,

“On January 23, 2023, the Petitioner discovered that the cable and Wi-Fi at the marital residence was no longer working. Petitioner attempted to obtain additional information from the cable and Wi- Fi service provider regarding this matter, but to no avail as the account is listed in Respondent’s name. Then, on the morning of January 24, 2024, the parties’ minor children discovered that the water had been disconnected at the marital residence,”

And continued,

“[Shumpert] has willfully and with no regard for the parties’ minor children, violated said STANDING ORDER by causing the disconnection of water, cable and Wi-Fi at the marital residence where the minor children reside. [Taylor] anticipates that the gas and electricity at the marital residence will be disconnected next [Shumpert].”

However, according to Iman Shumpert’s newly filed response obtained by RadarOnline, his ex demanded that the bills be transferred to her name in January 2024. The former NBA player claimed that he was okay with transferring the bills into Teyana Taylor’s name but he “never requested or directed disconnection of any utility services such as would have left [Taylor] and the children without electricity, water, gas, or other basic utilities for any period of time.”

He added that as of the date the response was filed, he believed all accounts to be current and paid in full. Iman Shumpert and Teyana Taylor were married for seven years before Teyana filed for divorce in January. In September of last year, she denied infidelity rumors but confirmed they were no longer together. At the time she claimed,

“AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, “infidelity” ain’t one of the reasons for our departure.”

She added,

“We are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children. Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT.”

However, since then, the exes have been engaged in a heated divorce battle. Last month the “A Thousand and One” star’s attorney reportedly claimed in a court filing,

“Much to the [Taylor’s] dismay, [Shumpert] appears to want to drag out this case through trial instead of working to resolve the divorce amicably with [Taylor].”
