Update #2: (Apr. 15, 2024): The troubles surrounding Rashee Rice for his involvement in a street race gone bad are far from over.

As previously reported, the Kansas City Chiefs star was released on a $40,000 bond after turning himself over to authorities last week for a car accident that took place late March. Allegedly, the 23-year-old and his 21-year-old associate were racing down a Dallas highway when they crashed the Corvette and Lamborghini they were in. The incident reportedly caused a multi-car collision. Video footage taken from bystanders appears to show Rashee Rice and his friend fleeing the scene before authorities arrived.

According to a report from TMZ, the pals are now being sued for $10 million in punitive damages by two individuals –Edvard Petrovskiy and Irina Gromova – harmed in the wreck. The plaintiffs said their injuries included lacerations and internal bleeding.

In addition, they’ve asked for compensatory damages for medical bills, mental anguish, and property damage.

According to authorities, video footage captured Rashee Rice and his 21-year-old friend Theodore Knox speeding on a Dallas highway on March 31st when the accident occurred. As confirmed by Rashee Rice’s attorney, the football player was driving a Lamborghini while his associate was driving a Corvette that Rice owns. A local leasing company confirmed that the Lamborghini was being leased in Rice’s name.

Video footage taken at the scene shows the two vehicles speeding in the far left lanes when they lose control, resulting in the Lamborghini hitting a median, causing a multi-car collision. The crash involved 4 other vehicles and at least 4 people sustained minor injuries. One individual present at the time recorded video of the sports car drivers seemingly fleeing the scene with their passengers without seeing if anyone needed medical attention or exchanging their information. This was confirmed in a subsequent police report as well.
