WNBA Star A’ja Wilson Addresses Claims She’s Bitter Over Rookie Caitlin Clark’s Rumored Eight-Figure Nike Shoe Deal: ‘No One Is Jealous’
Put some respect on A’ja Wilson’s name!
The Olympic Gold medalist has been placed at the center of a fan-driven beef involving herself and newly drafted WNBA player Caitlin Clark, 22. The drama kicked off yesterday (Apr. 17) when reports surfaced that Caitlin Clark is in the final rounds of negotiations with Nike for a new contract. She worked with the famed company during her college career, but that ended after her final Iowa season.
The new rumored eight-figure endorsement deal is said to also involve a signature Nike shoe for the Indiana Fever rookie. If the whispers are true, this would make Caitlin Clark one of the select few active WNBA players to have a signature shoe.

Given her impressive record while playing collegiate women’s basketball, it may come as no surprise Clark is in talks with Nike. However, many are shocked the athletic footwear and apparel corporation has (allegedly) offered her a signature shoe before the many skilled WNBA players that came before her, such as A’ja Wilson, 27. One person on X wrote,
“Please stop with the “she’s just not marketable” nah I want y’all to keep it 100! A’ja isn’t WHITE. That’s why she’s not considered “marketable” ! Stop playing in her face because a player with her RESUME, should’ve been had a shoe a long d*mn time ago”

The Las Vegas Aces player must have noticed she’s trending on the app formerly known as Twitter because she seemingly tried to take the high road in the conversation by simply posting a bible verse. She then added,
“Always remember what is delayed is not denied”

However, after an internet troll implied that A’ja Wilson and other WNBA vets are jealous of the attention Clark has received, the 2x championship winner said,
“lol no one is jealous bookie! I have no reason to be lol I truly Wish all 143 the best fr ! Our league is hard as h*ll so to thrive and to stay in it consistently.. is huge! So pls stop with this jealousy stuff”
