Update: Cassie’s Attorney Reacts To Diddy’s Apology After He Was Seen Beating Her In 2016 Footage: ‘No One Will Be Swayed By His Disingenuous Words’
Update (May 20, 2024): Cassie’s attorney has slammed Diddy’s video apology.
Meredith Firetog, a partner at Wigdor LLP, said in a statement to Us Weekly,
“Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday. That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
Original Story (May 19, 2024): Hip-hop vet Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is speaking out for the first time about the now viral video of him previously assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie.

In a video posted to his Instagram account, Diddy stated:
“It’s difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that.”

He continued:
“I was f**ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior in that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it, I’m disgusted now”
The billionaire went on to claim that after the incident occurred, he sought “professional help” and began therapy and rehab, adding that he also had to ask God for grace and mercy. Offering his apologies, Diddy further insisted that he’s “committed to being a better man each and everyday,” adding:
“I’m not asking for forgiveness, I’m truly sorry”

Diddy
The video marks the first time Diddy has spoken about anything publicly involving the many allegations of sexual abuse and trafficking he’s currently facing since claiming his innocence in an Instagram post.

His remarks come as a response to video footage from 2016 recently being released, that showed him physically attacking his then girlfriend Cassie ‘Cassandra’ Ventura.
As we recently reported, the LA’s DA office released a statement making it clear that Diddy will not face any legal implications as a result of the incident, due to it being past the statute of limitations. It does not appear that Cassie has addressed the video publicly at this time.
