Diddy Faces Sexual Assault Lawsuit From Model Alleging He Drugged & Sexually Assaulted Her In 2003 Before Blackballing Her From Hollywood
Diddy is facing another legal challenge as a new lawsuit filed on Tuesday (May 21) in New York federal court accuses him of drugging and sexually assaulting model Crystal McKinney in 2003.
The lawsuit, brought under the NYC Gender Motivated Violence Act, which allows victims of gender-based violence to sue regardless of when the abuse occurred, names Diddy, his record label Bad Boy Entertainment, distributor Universal Music Group, and his fashion brand Sean John Clothing as defendants.
According to the lawsuit, Crystal McKinney was a 22-year-old aspiring model when she was introduced to Diddy by an unnamed fashion designer in 2003. The designer purportedly dressed Crystal McKinney in a way intended to attract Diddy and brought her to meet him at Cipriani Downtown, a restaurant in New York City. During the dinner, Diddy allegedly made several flirtatious and sexually suggestive remarks about McKinney in front of the other guests.
The lawsuit alleges that later that evening, Diddy invited McKinney to his recording studio, where he and several male colleagues were drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. She states in her claim that Diddy handed her a joint that felt “very powerful,” leading her to believe it may have been laced with “a narcotic or another intoxicating substance.”
According to the suit, after becoming intoxicated, Diddy took her to a bathroom where he forced her onto her knees, demanding she “suck it.” McKinney later lost consciousness and woke up in a cab.
The lawsuit also alleges that after the incident, McKinney’s modeling opportunities declined as Diddy allegedly used his influence to blackball her in the industry. She claims this led to severe anxiety, depression, substance abuse, and a suicide attempt in 2004.
This latest legal challenge adds to a series of allegations against Diddy, including a recent lawsuit he sought to dismiss, involving an alleged rape of a 17-year-old girl in 2003. Other abuse accusations have surfaced from two women last November, including his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, and a male music producer, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones in February.
Additionally, Diddy issued an apology following the release of hotel surveillance footage showing the mogul assaulting singer Cassie, which was cited in her now-settled lawsuit containing claims of rape and physical abuse.
