Metro Boomin Honors Mother’s Legacy By Donating $100,000 To Five Women-Focused Nonprofits In St. Louis
Record Producer Metro Boomin has taken a break from his ongoing feud with Drake to focus on a good cause!
According to reports, Metro Boomin, 30, recently revealed he will donate $100,000 to five women-focused nonprofits in his birthplace of St. Louis, Missouri in honor of his late mother’s legacy. Sadly, Metro Boomin’s mother Leslie Wayne was killed in a murder-suicide by her husband in 2022.

Metro, real name Leland Wayne, has teamed up with Rung for Women and Amazon Access to bring his initiative to life. The “BBL Drizzy” mastermind is set to gift $20,000 in individual checks to Almost Home, Diamond Diva Empowerment Foundation, the Haven of Grace, the Little Bit Foundation, and Parents as Teachers.
Speaking on his latest endeavor, Metro Boomin said in a statement,
“I’ve seen firsthand the work that goes into being a single mother. Mine was my inspiration and my hero. It’s very important to me to pay it forward, because I see the same resilience and dedication in the women these organizations work with.”

Metro Boomin has been very vocal about the love he has for his late mother. In December 2022, he shared a heartfelt birthday post dedicated to his “best friend.” He wrote,
“Happy Birthday my Queen, my mentor, my best friend, my biggest supporter, my motivation, my real twin, my hero, the Love of my life, my Mother [red heart emoji] You taught me what unconditional love truly means and I carry that with me to this day and everyday forever after that. I will continue to do everything in your name and shine light throughout this dark world further building the legacy that You started and achieved so much in. God made You so strong to make me so strong and I see the bigger picture now. I Love You always and forever and can’t wait to see You again.”

The grants will help women overcome struggles they may face such as debt and keeping up with living expenses.
