Jonathan Majors Lands First Movie Role After Domestic Assault Conviction
Is Jonathan Majors in his comeback era?
News broke today (June 20) that the former Marvel star has landed his first movie role since he was convicted of assault. The film titled Merciless is an independent revenge thriller that’s scheduled to start filming in late fall in Saskatchewan. A report from Deadline says the movie “follows a top CIA interrogator who, after the woman he loves is overtaken by a malevolent force, is forced to go even darker to defeat it.”

Jonathan Majors was accused (and convicted) of assault by his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari. As we extensively covered, in March 2023, the Creed III star was arrested on assault, strangulation and harassment charges, for a domestic dispute with Grace Jabbari that occurred the night before. Jonathan Majors maintained his innocence and even claimed his ex was the aggressive one in their relationship.
However, on December 18, 2023, he was found guilty of one count of reckless assault in the 3rd degree and a charge of harassment as a violation. In the end, Majors was sentenced to 52 weeks of a domestic violence intervention program and probation.

The entire ordeal caused him several projects, including his role as Kang the Conqueror for Marvel Studios. He was also dropped by his management and public relations firm.
