Kobe Bryant’s Staples Center Locker Estimated To Go For Over $1 Million At Auction

You could own something that once belonged to NBA legend Kobe Bryant, but it’s going to cost you a pretty penny!

According to reports, on Monday (July 22) the online bid for Kobe Bryant’s Staples Center locker went live. The auction is being hosted by Sotheby’s. The locker, which was set to be destroyed during Staples Center renovations in 2018, was actually preserved by a maintenance worker. The special memorabilia was then purchased by a collector.

Bidding ends on August 2 and it’s estimated that the locker will sell for over $1 million. At the time of this report, the current bid is set at $700,000. A portion of the winning bid will go to charity. Sotheby’s shared with TMZ,

“In keeping with Kobe Bryant’s legacy of philanthropy and community impact, a portion of the proceeds from the sale will directly benefit The Los Angeles Lakers Youth Foundation.”

The auction house is selling other items from Kobe Bryant, including the late athlete’s Los Angeles Lakers 2012-2013 game-worn jersey. The price of that non-refundable item is $85,000.

 

As previously reported, In 2020, Kobe Bryant, his 14-year-old daughter, Gianna Bryant, and seven others, unfortunately lost their lives in a helicopter crash.
