Phaedra Parks’ Ex-Husband Apollo Nida Was Arrested After His Second Wife, Sherien Almufti, Called Police & Accused Him Of Physically Abusing Her + Sherien Says ‘Huge Blow Out’ Has Only Brought Them ‘Much Closer’

Apollo Nida’s legal woes are back in the headlines.

The former husband of Bravo star Phaedra Parks was arrested on March 11 after a dispute with his current wife, Sherien Almufti, per court docs obtained by In Touch Weekly. 

In a police report, Sherien Almufti, who privately married Apollo Nida last year, said after she returned home from a night friends, they got into a heated argument about “cheating on each other.” Interestingly enough, footage of Apollo Nida with another woman was leaked in March.

“pulled her by the hair and pushed by against a refrigerator.”

She claimed the two had a “scuffle” and she ran out of their home to get help. She returned to their house to grab her phone and Apollo Nida was no longer there.

Although Sherien Almufti showed authorities surveillance footage of their argument, police said the video didn’t include any physical altercation.

Apollo Nida later came back to the house and gave the police his side of the story, alleging that during their argument he attempted to take her phone. When he did so, she curled up on the floor, and he grabbed her phone from him. That’s when she ran outside. He then followed her outside to give her her phone.

She opted out of medical care on the scene and didn’t appear to have any physical bruises or markings.

Apollo was arrested and charged with domestic violence and simple assault. He was taken to a local jail before being released hours later on a $3,000 bond. He was later charged by prosecutors with a count of simple battery — family violence, which is a misdemeanor.

Interestingly enough, Sherien told the outlet that she and Apollo have only gotten “closer” since the altercation.

“It was a huge blow out between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then. We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.”

This comes a decade after Apollo was sentenced to eight years in prison for identity theft and bank fraud. He and Phaedra Parks divorced shortly after his sentencing, and their martial fallout served as a key storyline for seasons 8 and 9 of Real Housewives of Atlanta. He and Sherien met while he was in jail, and she made a cameo on the hit reality show during season 9.

Though Phaedra Parks and Apollo’s divorce turned ugly, he showed support for her when he appeared alongside her on the Married To Medicine Season 10 reunion earlier this year. (Phaedra Parks had joined the show as an official cast member.)
